A monument with a long history, The jewel of Budapest
During the renovation of the Várkert Bazár (Castle Garden Bazaar), everything possible was reconstructed in a period style, including the Zsolnay majolica dome and the romantic-style wrought iron gate elements of the main entrance.
The complex has been hosting events of all sizes and styles for many years.
It is the perfect venue for romantic weddings, elegant corporate receptions, anniversary celebrations, grand openings, end-of-year events, Christmas parties and exclusive festive events on the side of Várhegy.
The Várkert Bazár (Castle Garden Bazaar) is located in the 1st district of Budapest, on Ybl Miklós Square. It is a World Heritage Site. It was built between 1875 and 1883 according to the plans of Miklós Ybl in neo-Renaissance style, as a closure of the Várkert on the Danube side.
As well as its emblematic beauty, it is also of historical importance. It once housed a magnificent ornamental garden, a gloriette, ornamental fountains, grottoes and the houses of the guards, and later the cult entertainment venue of the youth of socialism, the Youth Park. After its closure, it had to wait until 2014 to be renovated, but today it is back to its former glory.
The multifunctional Event Hall, the Western Cellar System, the Foundry Courtyard, the Screening Room and the Drying Grounds are also available to organise an unforgettable occasion.
Thanks to the technical capabilities of the event hall, it is perfectly suitable for conferences, product launches, gala dinners, fashion shows, exhibitions, balls, theatre and concert performances, but also for family events and film screenings.
The courtyard and the outdoor stage are ideal for unplugged concerts and outdoor events.
The Screening Room is a suitable venue for press conferences, book launches, round table discussions, art and literature evenings, film clubs, courses, training courses and corporate training.
And the Dry Trench, set in the northern part of the neo-Renaissance garden, houses a unique outdoor stage for chamber theatre performances.
